"Cleaning" House

I have heard the saying that, "cleaning the house while the kids are young is like shoveling the sidewalk before it is done snowing." So true! Some days it seems to snow harder and longer than others....today was one of those days. While trying to clean today the kids followed me around and wanted to foil my best efforts. Each of these areas were clean when I started by the way.

This happened while I was folding a load of laundry.....

This happened while I was doing the dishes.....

And this happened while I was making the bed.....

Also, not pictured was while I was putting the laundry away Lindsey had an accident and then decided she wanted to take a bath and of course Wesley wanted in with her. So in the three minutes they were in the tub they managed to get water everywhere, Lindsey decided to wash her own hair with way too much shampoo, Wes got himself out of the tub and ran off dripping wet through the house. Chasing him down to put a diaper on him was like chasing down the rodeo calf and hog tie him. Back to Lindsey who is swimming in bubbles. I have got to talk her into washing out her hair while Wes is screaming to get back in the tub now. After I get the children dressed and presentable I try to get myself together because we are suppose to be meeting Sterling for lunch. That is also no small task with children in toe. I am going as fast as I can as they are now destroying my bathroom. Stuff is out from under the sink, Wes has flushed the toilet at least five times, and managed to unroll plenty of toilet paper. I am getting a little crazy so I take them out hoping Barney will distract them for the last few minutes I need. Not five minutes later Lindsey is opening the bathroom door to ask me if her lipstick is pretty and Wes is behind her eating a receipt, apparently they decided to clean out my purse. All I have to do is get dressed now, but that also is a big 'ol task. Wes is right behind me into my closet and starts pulling open drawers and throwing out socks and shirts and what ever he can get is little hands on. Sheesh....it's only 10:30a.m. and I am exhausted.

Spring fever!

This time of year really starts the cravings for the outdoors. The freshness of spring just makes you want to get out there and breath it all in. Wesley can't get enough of it either. He makes a mad dash for any open door and gets so mad if he doesn't make it before it closes. I know buddy I want out too. Just a few pictures when we did manage to get outside.

Cute friends.

Wes saying, "Yeah mom! We are outside!"

Lindsey is finally starting to give me some poses.

I love those short, chubby little legs. He is out of here before I get any ideas to take him back inside.

Cute girl. I love the left over spaghetti in the corners of her mouth.

Not the cutest picture with the drool and mulet blowing in the breeze, but still cute none the less.

More spaghetti lips, but I love those freckle cheeks.

Happy Birthday Brayden

Brayden turnrd 7 on the 14th. It is always hard to believe they are another year older as each birthday comes around. He is such a sweet kid. He has a heart the size of Texas. He wanted a friends party this year. I thought that would be alright because it is usually just family on the eighth party. I thought I had plenty of time to prepare when my mom called and was talking about his party and if we were doing it on Saturday. I looked at the calender and realized it was this Saturday, I thought I had an extra week. So we threw together some invitations and ran them around to his friends on the Wednesday before. It all came together. I am not much of a party thrower but at the age of six and seven they pretty much just want to run around and be crazy and that they did. The pictures came up out of order but here he is blowing out h is candles. He told everyone before we started that he didn't want anyone hanging over his cake and breathing on it, funny kid. I like how he has his hands up to funnel the blowing.
This is him leading everyone in Happy Birthday!

All of his fun friends wild friends.
Mister cool. I love his posed pictures.

My little seven year old who doesn't seem very little any more.

Snow Much fun!

This has been the winter of no snow. It has been pretty boring for outdoor activities, but today we woke up to a wonderful surprise. The kids didn't have school because of a teacher work day, so we dug out the dusty snow suits and had some fun. The perfect snowman snow!

Could my little freckle face boy get any cuter?

T his is Lindsey with her mouth full of snow. At least we know it was fresh.

Hailey pulling a funny face. Most of the other pictures she was being so grouch because Brayden moved the arm on the snowman. It took awhile for her to get over that.

Yup, there is that grouchy face.

Wes came out for a little bit too, but didn't like that he couldn't move in his suit.

There is a forced smile.

This was taken before the snowman fiasco. Cute girl!

Love that face, big crooked teeth and all.

Lindsey's lunch!

Glad I got a cute one while they were still friends.
