I have heard the saying that, "cleaning the house while the kids are young is like shoveling the sidewalk before it is done snowing." So true! Some days it seems to snow harder and longer than others....today was one of those days. While trying to clean today the kids followed me around and wanted to foil my best efforts. Each of these areas were clean when I started by the way.
This happened while I was folding a load of laundry.....
And this happened while I was making the bed.....Also, not pictured was while I was putting the laundry away Lindsey had an accident and then decided she wanted to take a bath and of course Wesley wanted in with her. So in the three minutes they were in the tub they managed to get water everywhere, Lindsey decided to wash her own hair with way too much shampoo, Wes got himself out of the tub and ran off dripping wet through the house. Chasing him down to put a diaper on him was like chasing down the rodeo calf and hog tie him. Back to Lindsey who is swimming in bubbles. I have got to talk her into washing out her hair while Wes is screaming to get back in the tub now. After I get the children dressed and presentable I try to get myself together because we are suppose to be meeting Sterling for lunch. That is also no small task with children in toe. I am going as fast as I can as they are now destroying my bathroom. Stuff is out from under the sink, Wes has flushed the toilet at least five times, and managed to unroll plenty of toilet paper. I am getting a little crazy so I take them out hoping Barney will distract them for the last few minutes I need. Not five minutes later Lindsey is opening the bathroom door to ask me if her lipstick is pretty and Wes is behind her eating a receipt, apparently they decided to clean out my purse. All I have to do is get dressed now, but that also is a big 'ol task. Wes is right behind me into my closet and starts pulling open drawers and throwing out socks and shirts and what ever he can get is little hands on. Sheesh....it's only 10:30a.m. and I am exhausted.

Can I tell you I'm so glad it's not only me? I do the exact same thing - go from one mess to another cleaning only to have messes made right behind me...and I only have one that can make messes! I can't imagine the damage that will be done when Brooklyn's on the move, too.
I've actually been giddy all afternoon & evening b/c both the upstairs & downstairs are still clean!
Reading this makes me really nervous to come back home...haha. Sounds like you miss me. :)
I haven't looked at your blog since Christmas. I can't believe how big and gorgeous all your kids are! How come they got all the freckles in the family? You are CRAZY for having all those boys at your house. At least you try and clean your house while your kids are awake. I always have to stay up until midnight cleaning after they are in bed! I really miss you and hope that we can see you this summer. AND I wanted to let you know that you are a very, very good photographer. You capture amazing photos of your kids. I'm jealous of your skills mama! Love your guts!
I am sooooo glad I am not the only one that has days like that!
LOL sure you were cleaning.. You were probably reading a book somewhere eating bonbons, isn't that what stay at home moms do???
